Ingredients: This Deodorant comes with an All-Natural claim, and a comforting list of ingredients that aren’t included. A quick perusal of the ingredients shows that they are all derived from plants, although this is no guarantee that dangerous chemicals weren’t used in the derivation process. The inclusion of botanical fragrance blend is also open to interpretation as while many fragrance blends are derived from essential oils, they also include stabilisers that can be toxic.
Pros: I found it easy to use, it didn’t stain my clothes,
Cons: The fragrance was a little strong, with a hint of urinal cake about it. However, lavanila has a variety of scents, including unscented which I should try.
Does it work? Better than nothing. 4/10
Ingredients: This is made up from sodium bicarbonate, kaolin clay, and plant-derived materials.
Pros: This has a nice, neutral scent that works for men and women, I really like it! It’s Australian made, and the vegetable glycerin is not derived from palm oil.
Cons: The paste has to be applied with the fingers, and then you have to wash your hands after, which is a tiny inconvenience. I’m not sure how easily it would go on if you had a strong growth of underarm hair.
Does it work? Yes!! 8/10
Ingredients: Purified Water/Aqua, Potassium Alum (Natural Mineral Salts), Sodium Bicarbonate, Benzoic Acid (natural preservative), Zinc Gluconate (natural preservative). Aluminium in deodorant is thought to be a contributor to Alzheimer’s Disease and cancer, specifically breast cancer. Some people feel that because Potassium Alum has larger molecules, they do not pass through the skin and into the blood stream.
Pros: The spray is nice and easy.
Cons: It can take a while to dry – I just let my singlet absorb most of the moisture as it doesn’t stain.
